South Korea is called the Land of the Morning Calm, a moniker which needs no explanation once you see the sun rise on the shore of the East Sea.

Not many Americans or Europeans consider South Korea as a travel destination. What a pity!  I first traveled to this energetic East-Asian country in 2004.  Since then, I have returned to South Korea many times, gathering experiences, photos, memories, and stories.

I hope this site will inspire others to experience the dynamism, rich culture, proud heritage, and colorful sights, sounds, smells and delectable tastes of South Korea.  The country is safe, family-friendly, and low-risk.

I have organized the site into itineraries to give you an idea of where to go, how to travel, where to stay and eat, and what to see.  I have also provided lots of direct links and/or english-translated information for accommodations, transportation, sites, and other resources. Or, maybe you just want to see some beautiful photos of Korea!  Whether you are couch-surfing or actually planning a trip, HAPPY TRAVELS!

ITINERARIES: DMZ 38th Parallel, Hallyeohaesang National Park (Namhae), Ganghwa Island, Sorak San and Gangwon, Kyongju, Andong and Danyang, Touring Jeju Island, Temples in Suncheon
